guys... i've been wanting to get rid of my EGR stuff forever, but i'm depending on my brother to help me out at the shop. he's always too busy though, so it still hasn't been taken care of

can someone tell me what stuff i can do on my own?

i want to remove the thermal reactor. so that will require a) plugging hole on exhaust manifold, and B) making a block off plate to seal up the intake manifold hole.

i think i can do that stuff on my own...

any other stuff i have to do?

do i have to remove the alternator to pull the thermal reactor out?

any tips would be helpful.... thanks

The thermal reactor is the exhaust manifold - so you will need a new one. tii is reccomended because there is no hole to block off. the egr stuff is easy - just block off any old vacuum stuff. Also, if you have the vacume advance/retard dizzy - get a new one. The air pump is the tricky part if you have one. The battery tray gets in the way and you will have to remove the alt. but an intake block off from the faq. Very nice looking.

thermal reactor.... i think i meant EGR gas filter

it sits under the intake manifold, and looks like the only way to pull it out is by removing the alternator

i don't want to buy a tii exhaust manifold at this point, i just want to plug mine up

Hey Patrick, what did you use to plug the smaller holes on the intake manifold? Would bolts work?

the smaller holes don't go thru the intake and can be left as they are or, if you'd like to fill them for appearance, use short, #10 bolts
