Its happened a few times before, but most recently on Saturday. Im sure it has something to do with the oil burning, but I cant pinpoint if it is from the exhaust or the engine itself. I am one head bolt short, it snapped at the very top, but that doesn't leak at all. It does smoke after high rpm deceleration(highway etc.). It seems like it lofts in through the vents, but you can sometimes see it pooling it the backseat area, and I cant really pinpoint where it is coming from. Any ideas?

getting into the cabin (besides being dangerous) it's probably coming from...

1. exhaust system leak

2. poor/missing trunk seal

3. poor/missing seals around the heater plenum chamber (where the wiper motor lives--one seal along leading edge, one on each side)

4. poor/missing seal and/or boot around shift lever

5. rust holes in pax compartment floor or in spare tire well

6. holes in firewall where wires, A/C hoses etc pass or passed thru and are no longer sealed properly

check 'em out...

I had smoke in my car and I freaked out. I couldn't tell what the smell was and I pulled over immediately and opened the trunk. Well, the safety pin came out of fire extinguisher and the trigger got squeezed and released all the baking soda powder into car. Was a relief knowing it wasn't anything worse, but it did make a big mess.
