As you may have noticed, we were down for almost 2 days. We ran into a problem with our old ISP that was limiting the number of connections to the database and the active use of the site forced the ISP to lock our database, thus making site unavailable. Since that ISP refused to work with us on resolving that issue, we were forced to change to a different one that does not have DB limits.

You will also see a few other changes to the site. The format is a lot cleaner and will resemble the old site. The threaded view is currently unavailable because we are working out a few bugs that will dramatically accelerate the site. But should be back in a few days.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused and hope you can give us a little time to get things back to normal.

Still a little slow for me on dial-up using Firefox. I'll try it with the uber connection at work tomorrow. Better than it was on Saturday though.

Someone send Weese directions on how to resize a picture before the freaks out and starts ordering more stuff from Mobile Tradition.

Overall, I'm happy with the new format.

If your life is dull, perhaps your car is too new and you're not driving far enough...

Steve - looks like it is really working better.... thanks!!!

I've noticed that if you use the JUMP TO pull down box it sometimes doesn't take you where you want to go to. For example, jump to off topic and you get a message "The forum you selected does not exist."

Keep it up, I like it!

afternoon. I kept getting the info on your working on the site until then. Definitely your MYSQL doesn't like ellipses either, as when I posted this before I got an error and the post was dumped. Speed is excellent on my 44k dialup. Just testing posting a pic from within a post via html (and leaving out my ellipses)

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
