320i alternator mount question.

Yes, i will bother you group with this.

I am just wondering: the 320 alt. got his adjustment braket upward, at least its the way it is on the 2 i have. How did you figured the installation on a 02, since the eyelet for the braket on the alt is more higher than on the 02, it will require a bend up braket?? did you use the 320 braket or ended up fabricating something?

I also see that there is 2 different alt. for the 320's, one with the braket down like the 02 and one up, like the one i have. Maybe i just have the wrong one.

The newer ones are different and the belt does not align itself

very well on a 2002. How do I know? I have one of the newer

320i alternators on my 02. It works, but not well. As soon as I

can afford it, I will be replacing it with an earlier 320i

alternator.

Ok, i see, the 77-79 got the same mounting points as the 02, so the braket is under it.

The ones i have are from 80-83.

Il make it fit.
