gas tank replacement

I have been gifted with a 1975 2002 BMW sedan, 4 speed.

It needs a bit of work, not too much as it was garaged for two

years prior to my acquisition.

The gas tank has some serious rust, and I need to replace

it. I've read elsewhere about a new stainless steel tank, but I

need to know if that would be better, or just more expensive.

So, if anyone has a gas-tank for sale, or advice, I'd

appreciate it.

Later, I'll be asking for assistance repairing the AC, but I'm

having a good time and learning tons of stuff off the archives.

What a cool site, and Steve, thanks for pointing me in this

direction!

I have a gas tank that came out of a 73 Tii we are parting out. It seems to be newer than the car so I think it has been replaced. I'm not sure it is a tii tank, I've heard the Tii tanks are a bit larger than a standard 02. There is a small amount of rust on one of the seams, it appears to be repairable. If you are interested email me. I can send pictures if you would like.
