To hood or not to hood

My original 02 hood is in bad shape, it was smashed and now has bondo all over it. This winter I am going to be doing the m20 swap from an 88 325i, but want to finish my satin black temporary paint job, and clean up the car for the mechanical change over.

Are hoods fairly inexpensive or is it better to save up and go the glass hood route even though it has pins instead of hinges. This is my fun daily drive and I am not real worried about staying original.

As always thanks guys

Shane
