ID'ing BMW vs aftermarket fenders?

How to ID them? Any markings, etc? My car has aftermarket, and don't fit that great. My parts car...I'm unsure of. They fit better, but the nose on the parts car looks like it has been replaced way back when, and the fenders are not original (different color underneath).

I'll tell you this much, I will NEVER use aftermarket metal again, other than maybe stuff you can't see or does not require precise fitting. Well...it was the PO who did it..but still..I shoulda chucked it all...

all aftermarket fenders I have seen have a 90degree flange there so that is usually the easiest way, simply run you fingers under the fender.
