Megasquirt pre installation questions:

A few questions for those running megasquirt:

1.Did you use the relay board? If so, where did you mount it?

2. Where did you mount the ECU?

3. Where did you run the ECU wiring harness?

4. Did you have to run a new rigid fuel line? If so, where did you route it?

5. On a 73 where does the fuel line run? I see it diapers through the firewall but I’m not sure if it’s safe to use the line.

6. How did you route the MAP line to the ECU?

I'm sure I'll have more soon but I think that should get me started.

Thanks,

Navin

1) Yes. IMHO it is well worth the money to build it. Mine is located in the back of the center console

2) My ECU is mounted between the lower dash and the heater box (yes there is room there)

3) I punched another hole near where other wiring goes through the firewall

4) Yes, aluminum line under the car down the driveline tunnel

5) I don't think your car has diapers, you might want to check again :-)

6) Through the same hole as the wiring harness

Cheers!

A few answers:

1.No, I made my own relay/fuse box and mounted it behind the right underdash panel next to glowebox.

2. ECU fits just nicely in the glowebox if you find small enough casing.

3. Drilled a new hole through firewall, right corner.

4. Yes, stainless pipe under floor. Used original plastic as return.

5. Inside cabin if same as 1502. I didn't want to use plastic line for pressure.

6. Well, straightest line. Just make sure it will not be depressed anywhere.

Some pics at my site allthought I still haven't finished the page...
