Maybe off-topic, but I saw a nice little show with a few one-of-

a-kinds. Held at the Art Center College in Pasadena, they

had 100 cars chosen for their design significance or

whatever else reason they wanted to make up to get their

buddies' cars in. Gordon Murray was there, Leno brought his

McLaren and the Blastolene Special (Patton 10 cyl motor - as

in Patton tank), which is one of the few cars that can make

people ignore an F1. There were a half dozen one-off

Bugattis, and the Buick Special from 1959 driven by Gurney,

Shelby, Bondurant. The owner is my friend's dentist and he

insisted I not only sit inside, but try on the period helmet and

vintage racing jacket. Sitting in that seat where those other

guys did...I swear my ass tingled in the most heterosexual

way possible. My fav was probably either the dark blue chop

top locomotive Bentley or the Ariel, which I was surprised to

see, carries two people. Unlike the neat but slightly ill-

packaged Art Center student project in the first photo (where

does the driver's head rest?). Oh well...you want people to

actually fit inside, you go to my old school - Center for

Creative Studies in Detroit. Germans were NOT well

represented, aside from the odd Hebmuller VW and Benz

Gullwing. Oh well...can't be perfect.
