Engine Probs need some advice

Hi Guys,

I've been having engine problems for tha last month, just had a rebuild & run 290 cam & 45 webbers, anyway car has run a couple of times well, all other times shocking, tracked a problem down to the rotor of my crane xr3000 slipping on the distributor shaft when the car warmed up, so i superglued that & now the timing doesn't change. Now i can't get the car to run nicely when slowly accel or cruising, especially up hills, but flat out acceleration is excellent, and here is the doozy, the timing is set at 26 degree advance at 1300rpm, and the mech advance works too. This is where it runs best. Any ideas what is going on. I am not using a tii dist, but a standard vacuum advance - vacuum is not connected, but car has run well with this setup.

Thanks
