5 speed conversion question

I searched but couldn't find more specific specifics on the clutch and stuff.

I'm putting a 82 320 5 speed in a '70 '02. Can I use all the original clutch parts with a 82 320 T/O bearing or do I need different clutch parts?

Which part of the driveshaft do you shorten? The front of the rear part?

Thanks

Since you generally want the 3 bolt flange to match up with the 3 bolt flange on the tranny, I got the front 1/2 of a 320i driveshaft for a few bucks at the pick-n-pull. I took that to the driveshaft shop with my '02 driveshaft and the length required and they did the work. They cut off the flange from the 320i shaft and spliced it on to the '02 shaft at the correct length.
