There are two limits to tire width. The first is the wheel width. For each tire model and width, the tire manufacturer has a recommended range of wheel widths. TireRack.com is a good place to find these. The second limit to width is the location of car parts like fenders, struts, and tie rod ends. If too wide, the tire may hit the strut or tie rod on the inside or the fender on the outside. Assuming a wheel with ideal offset, the widest you can fit on most 02s is 195 mm. There is some variability between cars, and some can fit 205 mm; you can't know without a test fit.
The turbine wheels in your pic are probably 6x13 E21 320i alloys. With those wheels and wide tires, the most likely fit problem on an 02 will be with the rear fender lips. Might fit with a 205; might not.
The wheel diameter has no primary effect on tire clearance. You will have the same problems with a 13 as with a 14 or 15, other factors being constant.
As other people have said, offset is important. E21 wheels don't have a good offset for 02s.
