Started making a pop noise accoumpanied with a lurch when you turn and accelerate. Any estimates on how long untill it fails completely? I am thinking about taking bets on this one ;).

You are more than likely missing a few teeth on your spider gears. I had the exact same problem and i had 5 teeth missing off my spider gears..it was cool. Buy a LSD to replace it with..it will take all the power (for the most part) you can give it. I constantly do 7k-8k dump burnouts (for fun of course) and I still have yet to blow up my slip. Its rad.

Always,

Trent

Well, that's about what I'm running and in talking with the previous owner, that combination of parts is enough to grenade a stock 2002 diff. He told me that he drove his like a "Geek" (definition below). He told me he cracked the housing. The diff in the car now has lasted 11 years, because he drove it much more carefully with the higher horsepower engine.

Geek: (guh'eek) A person, usually owning a high strung 2002, who likes to:

a) Get rubber on every upshift

B) Race every car off every stop light power shifting all the way

or c) High rev burnouts which cause the car to momentarily disappear.
