tii exhaust manifold and pipe diameters?

If I go with a tii exhaust manifold on a stock engine with a Weber 38/38 would there be any benefit to doing larger pipes from the downpipe back?

If the diameter of the tii manifold and stock downpipe is set, then why would bigger center and rear pipe/resonator/muffler be of any benefit?

I've read lots of the old posts about 2" and 2.25" pipes and mufflers, but does it really help other than looks and personal sound preference? Do

these larger pipes only benefit header-fitted motors?

My parts CD (4/99 version 1.2) does not clearly show a different muffler for a tii over a regular '02. Is there a unique tii downpipe/resonator/muffler?

Thanks

Your changes won't increase the output enough to warrant going to larger exhaust diameters. In fact, if you don't balance everything, you can do more harm than good. Tii manifold & stock exhaust will do just fine.
