I'm getting ready to buy an m20 for my '02. I found a 325i locally and the owner says the engine was recently changed, but isnt sure exactly what car his "family member" got it from but he says its low mileage. Anyone know how I can be sure its an "i" engine? I guess i'll knw by driving it, but I just want to be double damn sure.

We had an '88 E30 which had the 2.7l displacement "super eta" motor in it, and that thing was nice to drive. I think a little sluggish for a 2002, personally I like the 4cyl snappyness of our little cars. I always though the M2 conversion was a better way to go.
