Weber Carb Gasket Question

I am going to install a new 32/36 to replace my old 32/36. I was curious I bought one of the new Weber cardboard gaskets for between the manifold and the carb however I currently have a spacer between the Carb and manifold so do I need 2 gaskets(One for either side of the spacer/riser? Or just one gasket?)

TIA, Sean

both sides. The spacer is actually a heat block, to keep engine heat from the manifold from wicking up to the carb and causing fuel boiling in the float chamber on hot days/long runs.

It keeps the manifold heat off the carb to prevent fuel boiling and vapor lock-up.

Make another gasket. It's easy. Use the back board off a notepad, use your existing gasket as a template, (or the base of the carb: Spray the base with WD40 and press on the cardboard to mark the template.)

I also use a paper hole punch to make the holes for the carb studs. It really does not need to be perfect.

Good luck.

Whatever you do - keep the panoulic (sp) spacer.

I ran without it for ages. With the spacer back in, warm starting is soo much better - as BigDog & the others alluded to - the spacer stops float bowl fuel from heating and dissipating.

Zenon from this board cut two gaskets from gasket paper - doesnt have to be supermodel good - 2am princess pretty is fine...
