I need to mount a new one that's work with the stock linkage. I'm thinking of using the old backing, burning off the rubber and riveting aluminum (diamond plate or something) to it. that way I can keep the stock linkage 'keeper' on the back but how do i mount the bottom? door hinge? thanks, -Charley

In my case, I kept the two ball pivots, they caged in a block of aluminum, but you could use a door hinge too. Cut an aluminum plate to the shape of an accelerator pedal. Insert a small bearing on the accelerator rod, where there is a rubber grommet now, and you are in business. All you need to do is to reajust the height of the rod. If you do some track, then cutting the pedal with an xtension does marvel for heel'n'toeing...

I use mine exactly as your picture shows. Got tired of the pedal coming loose at the floor and jamming the throttle open. Works great for heal and toeing.

I have had the same problem with mine, was planning on replacing the damn things with a hinge as I had to do on a 61 mercedes. funny story I was on a road trip and the damn thing just kept coming off, and you kow what a paing it can be to keep your foot on that peg for a long period of time. So I was at a 7/11, middle of the night, digging around in my trunk trying to figure out a quick fix, when I came across some shoe-glue that I had just used to repair my Kenneth Coles. So what the hell I gobbed a bit on both balls and stuck it down. Its been 3 months now and it hasnt come off yet

when the race car's pedal came off, it jammed UNDER the throttle rod. So I lost WOT- for about 5 laps until I gave up in a fit of frustration, and while running down the front straight, un- harnessesed, reached down, and yanked the damned thing off.

Then, back in the pits, my crew drilled a couple of holes through the pedal and the support bracket, and used the universal race car assembly fastener to hold it on. That's tie- wraps (zip- ties, whatever) you know...

Yes, get yerself a good ol' hinge and things will be right again.
