drove my favorite race I've seen in the factory CSL at Laguna in '75 in the Camel GT. Two heats, and he led the first until he got a flat and finished second, then he won the second heat. I've got some great shots (buried as usual) at the Corkscrew where he's spraying fiberglass off the LF corner of the airdam as it scrapes the track. Two weeks later he led a CSL 1-2 at the Riverside 6hrs.

If the team is testing, whay did there seem to be all lot of extra traffic on the track? Seems dangerous to have a pro fast driver with average joes on the road.

Stuck qualified second; Posey fourth (Peter Gregg was on the pole and Al Holbert was third). On the grid, Peter walked over to Hans and said, "Hans, in this country, it's a tradition to let the polesitter lead for the first few laps." Stuck said, "Okay, Peter, we'll let you lead for a few laps, then we'll pass you." True to his word, after he let Gregg lead for a few laps, he got a draft on the Porsche coming down the diving turn and blew by on the straight. Stuck led for about five laps before Gregg got back by, and then Holbert. Hans and Sam finished third and fourth.

I was in the paddock, down by Big Bend. I watched Stuck come around that corner on three wheels (lifting the inside front) lap after lap after lap.... What an amazing man.
