I read all the postings I could find on the Optima from both boards. Most said it would not fit except in trunk. Only California/Austin? Paul said it would fit. He was right. I just installed a Optima Red Top Group 75 into in orginal battery location of my 1974 Tii. I did have to turn it backwards so the poles would be on the correct ends so the battery cables would reach, but it fit in there fine. Interstate Battery -$95 plus tax.

the Optima website and then measured the battery area in my 73Tii. The width and depth seemed OK but the height was going to be an issue. Thanks.
