Engine Mount Update...

Thanks for all your tips yesterday amigos!!!

This is a (2) man job to get things lined back up again. Basically with both mounts loose, the engine will "rotate" a bit in the engine compartment, which causes the holes on the passenger side mount not to line up.

Answer, have on guy on the drivers side mount with a wrench, other guy lift passenger side of motor by exhaust manifold to rotate it down in the "slot" on the driver's side mount, then guy #1 tightens engine mount on driver's side, viola, lower your jack, bolts on passenger side, and you're done!

Haven't driven it yet, but after firing up the motor you can feel how much tighter it is to the subframe with the Ireland eurothane mounts. The motor no longer looks like it's going to jump right out of the hood!

I'll post a drivability report this afternoon, I need to go to the auto parts store and get the 4th spark plug that was missing from the box!!!! F*ckers!

On a scale of 2 to 10, how hard was it...10 being the most difficult....Mine shakes violently every second or so....Where did you find the cheapest engine mounts? Bavauto has em for $30 each side..

Pretty straight forward, but you do have to be careful, and there's some futzing around to get the engine aligned right again with the new mounts.

I bought them from Ireland, forgot to ask how much. I decided I'd go for eurothane, which will add vibration, but I think it was a good way to go...

Just do it, before you become another Al.
