Wanted by local police

After a spirited test drive Thurs. in a 530, I parked it and went to the employee lot to fetch my van for my weekly pass by the parts dumpster. I was told that while I was out of the building, the police stopped in asking for me by name. Being too old and mild mannered to have many dealings with the authorities, I was almost shaking in my boots on my day off, Friday. I worked again Sat, but nothing was said about them coming back for me. I fretted all weekend, and today, I was met in the service aisle by The Man. He introduced himself, and got right to the business at hand. It seems that someone had directed him to me, because as the new owner of a 76 02, he wanted to get hooked up with the 02 world as we know it. Whew!

A few years back, I was cruising through Danville, CA in my freshly

washed and waxed E24 on my way to the now in-laws place. Now, that

car is my nice crusier (my 02 is the 'spirited drive' car), so I wasn't

doing anything out of the ordinary through town. About half mile from

their house, a Danville police car lines up behind me and within

moments lights are on and he's pulling me over. Now, I haven't been

pulled over since I was 18 (knock on wood), and it has been about that

many years since. So, I was none too happy about having done

nothing and getting pulled over. In the end, turned out he's a neighbor

of the in-laws, has seen me in a couple of different 02s, an E30, the

635, and was wondering if I could point him into the right direction to

find a nice E21 for he and his son to work on! I was floored...Kev

I see this scum bag snooping around my car (72 tii) in our parking lot (we sort of have one way windows), and I am ready to go out and defend my turf, when he comes in and asks for Mike! what business may he have with me? I wonder... So I am ready! "I was wondering if you can point me in the right direction, I heard you like 02's and I am thinking of getting one". Well, that nice gentleman and I spent the next hour talking...
