Part number help...

Trying to find a part number for the base gasket that goes with the early style outside mirror, part numbers 51 16 1 801 866 or 51 16 7 466 010. The parts book I have doesn't show a part number for the gasket, only the mirror and mounting screws. Anyone have a later parts book that shows this part number? Max sent me a couple of base gaskets, but they're not the right ones, nor do they fit the trapezoid or later flag mirrors.

Mike, I looked in the orange book, and the large white book. I saw the same thing. The one I have came with the mirror in the package.

....for you uptight family types - that stands for "severely outta luck"....BMW sells those seals when (and only when) a complete early (read" EXPENSIVE) mirror is bought. They come in the package - but as I recall - are NOT available seperately.

...considering all the toys and trinkets Mobile Tradition offers - you'd THINK they could come up with a few more rubber seals and crash repair parts, eh?

I'm not even sure if the early mirrors are even available any more - there was a short production run of them about 4-6 years ago - then intergalactic backorder took hold.
