Safety Question: Forward Support Points

I always use the frame rail to support the car on stands, specifically, at a point behind the firewall, probably like almost everyone does.  Now, I might need to support the car (no engine and no subframe) on the frame rail but farther forward in the engine bay...about where the subframe attaches.  See photo below for an approximate location (stand is only loosely in place and is not loaded).  I assume a spot in that area will work well; if that spot is good enough for a subframe it should be sufficient for a stand point.   I have never used that spot on the frame rail for stand support so I'm checking with you folks - just to be safe.  NOTE:  The rear of the car will also be on stands, if that matters.

Q:  Am I good to go...safely?

Thanks.

That'll work fine, without the engine and subframe there's not much weight at the front at all.

If everybody in the room is thinking the same thing, then someone is not thinking.

I'd use a piece of wood between the jack stand and the frame rail so as not to take a chance on deforming the spot where the subframe goes with the much smaller jack stand head.  A small piece of plywood will work.  Just shake the car really good once on stands before you get under it for any reason.  I lost a friend to a 2002 back in 1969 when he was working under his car supported only by a hydraulic jack....and he was a smart guy...
