Tii Intermediate Shaft Ball Cup Replacement

Has anyone had any success replacing the ball cup for the intermediate shaft that sits in the warmup regulator?  Not the plastic cup, but the metal cup that the plastic cup sits in.  Realoem shows it as a separate piece, but I'm not sure if it's a press fit that can be tapped out from the bottom, or if it's threaded.

I can't say for 100% but I would think that it is pressed in knowing how they put things together in that time period      I wonder if you could just spin yours 180 degrees to put the wear away from the loaded linkage

Thanks, Rick

To close the loop on this, @dlacey was correct.  I ordered the parts on eBay they arrived and are the exact match.  I even talked to Gus Pfister on the phone and he said he didn't think BMW ever made that part available, that you would just replace the warmup regulator if there was an issue with the ball cup.  Maybe he'll want to buy the extras from me. 🤔

@bergie33 I'll take one of those pieces off your hands, about to pull the warmup regulator to install the 2002FAQ kit that's been sitting under my desk for over a year :)

I'll send a PM.

That's a very simple lathe project, better if you made it out of HDPE...

Hmmmmm.

I'd do it but not until after the new year..,

Please sign me up for a couple of your reproductions if you are willing to make extras. I have access to using a CNC lathe if that's helpful, but I'm not a machinist myself.

Would someone who bought on of the these pieces consider taking measurements of the piece so that the measurements are available?

I've been thinking that a replacement ball cup made of UHMW Polyethylene would be a complement to this as well.
