I’m about to embark on changing the ECU on my M42 and planning the changes

Are you installing a performance chip?  If so, whose, and what will be the increased performance?

Hi Mike,

No, my current ECU which is the original one to the engine has a chip but I don’t know what make it is. I am changing the ECU and everything associated with it to a MaxxECU. It should give me better drivability, and a little more power using the upgraded cams I have.

However, the existing chip provided some more power and it dyno’d at 147. Since my rebuild and with the cams it dyno’d at 155. Im hoping with the new ECU we might be able to squeeze it to 170.
