Glovebox Treasurehunt

Things get shoved into the glovebox and fall out the backside getting trapped between the carpet and firewall lost for decades. When removing the carpet on my 67 for a good cleaning I found the original gas cap key attached to this cool early German keychain. Now I know the mystery how my car ended up with this strange German gas cap. (Picture for reference) when I removed the carpet on my 72 to install a Esty carpet I found this book of business cards. If you haven’t yet checked your car to see what might be stuck behind the carpet that fell from the glove box I recommend you do.  Maybe you’ll find gold rings or other treasures. Good luck

Pulled my carpet a few years ago, and all I got was this faded pack of ZigZags. But the serene visage of the Zouave on the cover inspired the name of the car, and he now presides over the cockpit like a protective scapular.image.thumb.jpeg.240587b510d78ac6c2026f42b7b6be15.jpegimage.thumb.jpeg.cc0a5889dc6be6e0c5b1409a59151691.jpeg

Well, not exactly treasure but I did find this under the carpet in my parts car… A wrapper from a Tootsie roll that must’ve been part of a charity fundraiser from a bygone era.

I may follow @0257’s lead and laminate it and hang from the rear view mirror… but with a comma added after the word “help” as a plea to those around me to maybe stop me from pissing away more money on this car

Umm, my wife, the stoner in the family, discovered that spot for her stash back in 94.

We had a couple nervous crossings in Canada, wondering if we really ever found and cleaned out everything she ever dropped back there.

Whoever might have our old '76 Fjord 02, better check carefully.

I found a make-up compact and red lipstick back there from a gal who I had a long weekend with after putting the car on the  Block Island ferry and going over to to Newport, RI. to see David Bromberg. Somehow there were footprints all over the inside glass....

I've had this car a long long time 😎

Not in my car, but twice--in two different junkyard cars--I found the key to the locked gas cap in the car's glove box.  Those two early gas caps now grace my two roundies...

I found these business cards in my glove box.  Eastern, “the wings of man”, went out of business in 1991.  Originally headed by WW I ace Eddie Rickenbacker.  Harkens back to a time when you got dressed up

and looked forward to getting on a plane!  Tom
