through the bottom of the car....?

I think that my cable is wedged somewhere inside the tube that is welded to the body...

And, yes, I did remove BOTH nuts on the end of the cable before I started pulling them through...

One came out no problem...the other is snagged somewhere.

Options?

TIA

Look right above the rear cross member where the cable comes out of the cabin of the car. There is a brass piece that your need to grab with a vice grip and twist out. That is where the cable is hanging up. I pulled like hell on mine - start stretching out a spring piece and thought I had a big disaster going. Considering going to hammer technology and hooking the end of the cable to a bumper. As soon as I found that brass piece and twisted loose I was home and safe. Look at the replacement cable and you will see the piece I mean. I ran some string off the cable where it hooked to the handbrake to help pull the new cable back in.

come loose from the cable--then bunch up inside the tube. I had to cut the tubes on mine, remove the cable and plastic, then reweld the tubes to the body. What a PITA.

It ain't coming out, and now I fear that its not going to come out.....do I need to take a dremel or something and split the tube in half, or is there something else I can try first.....maybe a plastic solvent to breakdown the supposed plastic sheath blockage? or maybe a stronger acid?

Thanks

I had the same problem. Tried a slide hammer to no avail. Finaly was able to pull them out by heating the steel tube with propane torch. Was real easy that way.
