I am going to make a cart this weekend and wondered if I should make it to engage with the motor mounts on or use the pan flange support it.

Has anyone made or purchased one?

$30-40. John W and I have the dolly from HF. Engine sits on pan flanges. Great for storage but not very study for work such as torquing big bolts.

For heavy work use an engine stand, about $70 from any chain auto supply or mail order place.

An engine stand like that is better when working on the engine, because it holds the engine better against wrenching, and you can get to all sides. A low, small dolly is more compact for storage, and it's cheaper. My wonderful GF got me one of each for Christmas.
