Description:

Looking to purchase a Bavaria, one of those four-door jobs and the most beautiful four-door sedan BMW ever built.

Budget is $10,000-$15,000. Less than that would be better. It should run, most things work, decent to good paint, interior.  Automatic ok, ac would be nice. Willing to travel for the right car.

This will be my fifth, yeah, I really love them.

Thanks, JQ. I did see it. The visible rust in the rockers and fender tell me they are the tip of the rustburg. Did you look at his other cars, and interesting 220s MB, a VW Beetle and others. He only shows the exterior. No money shots.

I am in Bucks County near New Hope. We have a group of  02, coupe and soon to be a single Bavaria owners(me) called the Rocket Dogs.

We do regular drives(we were out Sunday, three 02 and a coupe)for a drive. Help each other find parts, cars and fix things. If you send an email to   coupecs@aol.com I will add you.  Do you belong to the BMWCCCA? There was an article about the Rocket Dogs in the last issue of "The Classic"

Isn’t the Bavaria the only BMW model with a non-numeric name? I have a 73 in Sahara. Bought it back in 1993 in McLean, VA off the original owner who picked it up from the factory. The car is rusty but structurally sound and is a lot of fun to drive. I have thought of selling it but my son loves the car, tells me it was cutting edge in its time, so I am going to give it to him. Will keep an eye out. Good luck with your search.

right, Charles. the only non-numbered BMW.  Some feel the Bavaria is better balanced than the Coupe. Of course it has the same engine, tranny, suspension, drive line, all mechanical parts are shared.

When I first drove our first Bav, a 3 liter 74 that we bought in 81, I thought I was driving a sports car.

I do have a solid lead on a 73 that looks quite promising. Details in a Rocket Dog email when/if it comes to fruition. And that may be April.

So, you are the second owner. A privilege.
