Mechanical fuel pump bushing

Need help with orientation on the fuel pump insulating bushing, it seems that the bushing only goes in one way on the opposite side of the mounting nut. Just want to make sure that this is correct or not because it would mean that there would be a gap between the insulator block and the fuel pump. Or should bushing be installed on the mount nut?

I read that the bushings help with possible vapor lock issues from heat transfer from the head to the pump. My previous pumps bushings were trashed probably from over tightening so there really wasn’t any plastic between the pump and nut.
