The 560SEC is a really pretty car and much more powerful than a BMW 6-series of the same vintage. Benz V8s with high mileage usually need new timing chains, so ask the seller if this has been done. The auto trannies (like all crappy european auto trannies) are iffy after about 100,000 miles; they may go another 100,000 or they may crap out to the tune of $3500 or so for a new or rebuilt one. Otherwise, I think they are nice, solid cars. If you want expert advice, go to www.mercedesshop.com

I dont know why Benz kept using that garbage in the age of ultra capable EFI. E32 may have four doors but it's a hell of a lot better car than any Benz

3 and 5 yr old love daddy's 'broken car' (I have a muffler hanger that broke and it

rattles a lot) but, not for going places more than 30 miles away.

80 to 85 is amazingly comfortable. Seems that the faster the car goes, the more solid it feels. Pretty amazing for a 3 box car.

Anyway, living in crowded So Cal suburbia, the majority of the vehicles on the road are 5000+ lb SUVs driven by clueless people with a cell phone in one hand and a coffee cup in the other. It just does'nt fit what I need anymore.

So I am after an e36 4dr M3. You can get them for the price of a new Camry.

Easy swap. Problem is that time is a problem. I am done with projects for a few years. My Thistle woodie is enough for now.

When sheeted in, the boom is about 6in off the deck. I haven't even put her in the water yet but, I did get a wheel on the trailer up while hiking in my driveway on, lucky too, as the mast fell against the side of the house instead of dumping my ass on the concrete.
