brian76
Once again I go to the Guru’s I’m putting in my gas tank and I cannot locate the screws that go from the filler neck bracket to the body. I tried all sizes and pitches of screws and none seem to fit. Does someone happen to know what screws were used? I’m getting tired of going back and forth trying screws. thanks Brian
visionaut
There’s different filler neck designs on early vs late cars, so it’d help to know what you have… Realoem.com is a great source for parts info. Here’s a link for a ‘76, showing the part# for a self-tapping sheet metal screw (x4) going there. Swap in your exact model to see what you have. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=2215-USA-05-1976-114-BMW-2002&diagId=16_0384 Oddly, it doesn’t list the specs for this particular fastener (realoem usually does)… Edited August 18, 2022 by visionaut
John76
Are you lining up the flange correctly? The screw holes only line up one way (not symmetrical).
bergie33
Pics and info... Looks like about m4.2x15mm. Originals are hex head with captured washer.
