“just rolled in”

Customer states they have an alignment problem. Look at that center tie bar.

Customer states the exhaust is noisy.  The resonator rusted off the car.

Customer really wanted a case of PBlaster with the car.  Or a cutting torch.

From the looks of the lower control arms, I’m wondering if this car did some off-roading.

Or perhaps the car was dragged from it’s resting spot using a chain on the steering arms.

I was thinking this car was jumped Dukes of Hazzard style.

Or it was picked up by a forklift from the front when it was dropped off at the junkyard that it should have stayed in.

My old 2000CA ended up there. It was missing the motor and the lights. Twenty years ago I gave it away FREE to an enthusiast . And, it ended up at this dealership a couple of years ago where they were asking between $7 - $10K for it. It had a really clean front grille.  I'm tired of all the BS associated with this hype and jingoism, for God's sake !

There is an idiot (Marcus Walker) in Downtown LA who's advertised and sold Porsche 912s in similar rusty condition for $30K. His background is in fashion and the garment industry where marketing is everything.

Walker set up shop in a large Downtown loft space of the so called "Artist District". Thirty years ago you can rent 5,000 sq, ft of loft space for a mere $900 / month. Now, that same space will cost you $15K - $20K / month. We used to pool our money together and rent the large spaces for next to nothing. After the Tech Yuppies  and .com idiots came in, the prices skyrocketed. It's all Yuppies now.

You're a saint! But not nice to say not so nice things about people behind their backs online. California is a desirable place for many, those that want to be here make do to be able to be here. If not, then on to another state or country

Wasn't there this grest expression "there is a sucker born every minute..." someone just might buy it out of ignorance, but selling it for that money is kind of malicious. Their ads show up in Europe on some online sites, a lot is expensive and unviable.

I have no problem calling anybody out who is marketing and selling heaps of rust for $30K+. (There are people who will attempt to sell their own crap after presenting it in a fancy wrapper). I have no problem calling these people  out in person.  I have a long toilet scroll list of all the melon vendors, supported with specific examples, that I've came across in the 02 community and elsewhere over the past 40 years. It's my little "Black Book".

Perhaps, I should write a book. It's not just the 02 community. You'd be surprised what I have witnessed over the years in this town.

I've also spent the majority of my life in this town, state and country where I personally witnessed the demographic and socio-economic changes described above. And, now, you're suggesting if I don't like it, I should leave. No ! I'm not leaving. I''m speaking out. And, I'm not going to stop, even if you cut out my tongue.

Not sure why you called Magnus (not Marcus) Walker an idiot on this forum, but if you say you will say it to him in person, good on ya, then! I've witnessed the same shit as you as a 4th generation Californian and I'm long over it. Stay sweet!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
