Description:

This car has been put together as if it was purchased new from Max Hoffman, the US BMW importer, in 1974. There are performance upgrades including limited slip differential, 22/19 mm adjustable sway bars and lowering springs by Suspension Techniques with Bilstein sport shocks. The front breaks have vented rotors with spacer front calipers and stainless steel break lines all the way around.

 

This 1974 BMW 2002tii is powered by a JF pro bmw service motor - built 2.0L inline-four built in 2008 with 9.5 C.R.  Mahle  high-compression pistons, stock camshaft ,new oil pump mains and rods bearings. This has just recently been rebuilt. 

 

The car was refinished in Polaris sliver with a darker blue leather  interior with original perforation for the year 1974 . Additional features include a rebuild 4 speed manual gearbox, a rebuild 3:64 gear ratio limited-slip differential. The petal box has been completely rebuilt.

 


It is now offered with original tool kit, jack, and a clean California title in my name.

 

The exterior has Hella euro spec H4 headlights  and dual tone Hella horn.

 

Front and rear polished original aluminum bumpers, polished stainless steel rocker moldings  and retains the original aluminum belt line moldings  that have  been polished.

The car rides on 13 x 5.5 steel wheels  that were checked for straightness, glass beaded before painting, repainted with a darker shade of silver and mounted with new Federal tires 205 60 13  in 2021. It has deeper cone alloy lug nuts if new owner chooses to run alloy wheels if they choose.

 

Bilstein Sport shocks, with Suspension Techniques 22 front and 19 mm rear sway with s/t springs that are fitted at all four corners.

The blue leather interior features stock steering wheel and original  shift knob. There is new salt and pepper carpet with matching floor mats to protect carpeting.
Floor has been Dynamat  prior to carpet installation (sound deadening).

 

The car has a new headliner, resewn sun visors with a custom marine vinyl recovered dash. 

Heater box completely rebuild with new blower motor.

 

The original equipment A/C is all original, did not need rebuilding: two windows and rear quarter windows open @ 55 mph. 


Stock instrumentation includes a 5-digit odometer shown in photo gallery. The miles and tii clock are all working.
Owner has added 1500 miles since total tear down mileage is unknown.


The trunk is complete with original panels.


The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four was built by JF probmw service in 2008 using 9.5:1 compression pistons, a stock camshaft, new rocker arms and shafts. Injection pump and warm up regulator from Kugel Fischer has been rebuild. Injectors have been cleaned and tested for opening pressures and spray formation. Tii ignition distributor has been rebuild/recurved to factory specs.


Power is sent through a stock 228mm tii flywheel to a rebuild 4 -speed manual gearbox and a rebuild 3.64:1 limited-slip differential. A new sport Sachs clutch kit were installed in February 2018, and the flex disc/guibo driveshaft coupling was replaced.
