Selling Tii on BAT…

Its not gonna show up unless your search includes “tii”

A fabulously stupid move by BAT that I doubt they’ll change.  A buddy who sold his Tii last year argued with them for over a month about it.   They didn’t care.  The answer he kept getting was something along the lines of “we understand your concerns, but the tii is a different model.”

I kinda enjoy looking at all BMWs and German cars (scroll down towards the bottom to find a neat BMW 1600GT.

I plan on listing on mine BAT very soon. The knowledgeable guys over on the 911S forum have pretty much concluded it’s the “best” way (whatever that means) for buyer and seller. But to remedy the canned BAT narrative I plan to prepare a comprehensive narrative as an intro to describing everything  I know about it and a detailed account of what work was completed. Detailed Invoices from the engine builder and others will prove helpful. Hopeful that I won’t have to answer silly questions.

The missing vin plate should be addressed.

I have the original Vin plate, I just removed it during their repainting process and never put it back on as I had purchased a new one and I’m now looking for somebody to engrave the numbers on the new plate professionally… it’s clearly a matching numbers car from the pictures.

But its  still Bring a Trailer. I would add photos of original and new one.   Someone will freak over it by auction end.

Great idea!! However, I don't think the majority of the BAT audience read much. Same questions get asked several times.

Congrats on the sale Barney!!  Hope some of the negative peanut gallery from the 2019 BAT auction are rethinking the possibilities the car had then and their comments.  You had the vision and saved it!   ?

What was wild as I was sitting here thinking it didn’t sell because my reserve was 70 and all of a sudden I get an email from bring a trailer that they made up the difference to make the sale happen…

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
