VIN 1667452, probably ca. July 21, 1969 (not verified by BMW Group Archives)

Very nice car! Perhaps expensive for its condition (engine compartment paint, minor rust evident), but exceptionally original and complete. Polaris with navy blue interior and sunroof — that’s the ticket!

Regards,

Steve

Steve,

You're absolutely correct in your assessment. The car is overpriced. I've been arguing this point, but to no avail. Back in 1990 this would be a $2,500 car. But, lately things have taken a life of their own. Every other Yuppie, especially the tech Yuppies with lots of disposable income wants either a classic Porsche or BMW. The Porsche values have gone through the roof 5-10 years ago. They've now turned to the BMWs and 02s and driven up the prices like mad. Compared to the 356, 912 and 911, the 02 at $20 - $40K is considered a great deal by these people. If you try complaining you just run into walls as these folks will jump all over you and tell you to go and take the "Happy" pill and sell your car if you can no longer afford it etc.
