F'ing ads on the site? Whats up?

I've been a paying, subscribing member for a few years now (I think two).  Originally it was, you pay, you don't see ads.

Back on the platform after a while, and i am being killed by the damn pop up ads.  Almost, borderline unsuable..

What the heck?  I want to contribute to the cause but would consdier going back to a free loading non-paying member if I have to contend with all the ads.

Any insight here?

... and yes, I am logged in.  And I logged out, and logged in again.  I still see the Geico gecko all over.  Muy mal.

Is it off topic?  Isn't this the very core/heart of the site?   Membership, subscription, etc?  It is what makes all the other posts possible.  It is, I suggest, the most "on topic" post possible.

I just figured it out.  I've been Klugfisher for a while.  Now, the site is making you upgrade to turbo to remain a member at an extra per-month charge?  When you are already paying every month.  Why?  You cannot renew or be a Klug anymore?  Now, you have to pay for Klug, and then are forced to upcharge to turbo to subscribe at all?  that was the problem.  The site forced an upcharge to turbo and unless you accept that, so that is what happened to the auto renewal... I had to provide cc information for that?

Admins, love all your work but this feels wrong and contrary to the spirit here.   Mind explaining what is going on?  No announcement?  I'd love to be wrong and hope I am b/c this feels off putting.

I think Tom was pointing out that under the off-topic heading, there's a specific section for site problems - which is probably an easier and faster way to get a relevant response.

The Payment method that was used for your reoccurring transaction has been removed by me about a month ago to see if this affects the site performance as they collect some data to prevent fraud.

The invoice was issued and was due on June 6th, After 14 days it expired and was cancelled and thus your membership was demoted back to Solex level. I have cancelled your Turbo upgrade and gave the credit back to your account. I have also reissued the invoice so that you can set up a payment method.

In the Menu -> Store -> Manage Purchases, you will find the expired invoice and the membership that you can renew.

Thank you,

Steve K.

P.S. There are many ways to contact me. P.M. if needed, or "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page.

P.P.S I view the site with ads to make sure that the experience is not detrimental. We do not have Pop Ups and i do not think the number of ads and their position is too intrusive.
