Dash cover?

i have on laying next to my desk that i bought a few years ago from someone on the forum...i dug it out a couple of weeks ago to try on a 2 piece dash...i just don't see how you can make it work at the slide control openings...i'm going to cut those out and see if it will glue down tight enough to get the slide control plates in the dash...and they don't furnish a matching cover for the glove box....the soft, flat black leather isn't even a close match to the black dash vinyl

 

it will take a lot of work and patience to install, not considering the above

The previous owner of my car purchased one, and it came with the car, uninstalled.  I did the dash repair on my two-piece dash using the flexible dash bondo, and then took the leather cover and the dash to a highly recommended upholstery guy.  He couldn't make it fit, and now I'm having another guy try.   It's one piece of leather, pretty good quality, but as Esty stated, it isn't going to be an easy job.   I should know more in a week or two.  If it doesn't work I'll have to start looking for a used dash in half decent shape.

Hi Paulo.  No joy on making it fit, so I've abandoned that path and am going to see about applying a textured finish.  If it turns out well, I'll post pics.
