Frigiking blower motor resistor replacement

Greetings all.

Has anyone replaced a bad resistor (only blows high) on their Frigiking unit?

Will any three prong resistor work if it's mountable. Many resistor options out there but cannot find the exact one. In my search, I discovered the switch can still be bought new.

Thanks in advance

Albert

Some years ago I had to replace the blower motor switch on my '73's Frigiking A/C and easily found one at a local auto air conditioning shop.  I suspect that resistor is just as easily found.  There should be markings on the resistor itself that will translate to its value; then it's just a matter of finding one with the same reisistance and wattage capacity.

What Mike said.

Beware of the cheap fan switches found on ebay. Go with one from Vintage Air or Nostalgic Air, etc.

Cheers,

Ray
