Italian Market FPS Alloy Wheels - Cap Help

Hello All,

I recently was connected with a set of the FPS Italian market wheels for my Italian market 2002tii. The wheels came without caps of course and I am looking for the original option or any suitable option that looks correct. Ill get some measurements, but from one of the threads below the bore is 60mm and the depth needed to seat the cap (if exterior mounted) is 12-13mm. From the photos found on the forum, it looks like the original caps might have been metal with the roundel cast or engraved into the face of it.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

-Ryan

It appears I have partially answered my own question by finding a lone wheel that sold recently. Standard 60mm BMW wheel cap looks like it works - not sure if this was ever an original set up for this wheel, however.

I don't have one in front of me to measure, but would the stainless steel caps used on the "early style" factory alloys (that install from the back side) fit those Italy market FPS wheels?  If you look at the back side, there's a chamfered groove on the back side of the wheel center where it fits against the hub flange.  That's the way the early style alloys are made...

That is a great observation - I overlooked that. Somewhere I have some Alpina caps for my Borrani’s and I’ll have to experiment with those too and report back!

So I just got some Italian Market FPS alloys.  I imported them from Italy.  (My 02 isn’t from Italy, I just like the wheels).  They came with center caps that appear to be from the 70s.  I have not seen them before.  They are plastic.  I have seen the metal ones with the roundel embossed, and I have seen people fit the standard BMW center caps, but not these.  Is anyone familiar with these?

Those are the proper caps for those wheels.
