interesting...  how does valving compare to, let's say, IE stage 2 stuff?  springs are pretty easy to swap out, but valving - any ability to adjust for more track use?  how's the gecko quality compared to other brands.  and finally, just looked up Danjer --> awesome!!! love to see folks making parts for 02s!

I am kinda interested in these.  Can you give us a bit of background.  Why did you make these?

I don’t have much background to be honest. There are not many options with coilovers for the 2002. Gecko makes these and sells them at a very budget price. They work really well for a street car that will only see mild track and/or autoX use.

I haven’t used IE stuff so I can’t comment there. But they have 24 clicks of adjustment. It’s combined comp/rebound. Same as a BC racing or any other budget coilover. I’d guess they are all made in the same factory in Taiwan. They use 05kg (280lb) springs front and 04kg (228lb) springs rear.

Thank you, we are trying but it’s a small niche market.  I wish more people would give the control arms a try. The improvement in handling is tremendous.

If i was going to keep my car I’d consider it. How are they different from the....   e21 longer control arms?  That’s what i was looking at.  Can you use stock fenders?  I was hoping to get the additional camber without cutting.. I’d accept some interior fender rollling though.

Ya, they only move the top of the tire out 3/8” ish. Because it pivots at the camber plate and your moving the balljoint out 3/4”. The top of the tire is about half way between the top of the strut and the balljoint, therefore only moves about half the distance. Most people we sell them to have stock fenders.

Not sure on the e21 control arms?  I know of the Bavaria arms. Ours use all stock components and oem replacement poly or delrin bushings. All stock mounting locations. So it’s as easy and pulling the old arms add and bolting these in. All the suspension and steering geo stays pretty much the same

If you check our Instagram there’s a customers car with a pretty aggressive setup with stock tires.

You guys offering a service so people can send in their struts to you and you modify them and send them back?  Just in case they don't have a known good welder nearby...

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
