Hi Barney,

Last I checked, costs were between $1,100 and $1,500 depending on who you chose. Ingram was the highest.

Wes Ingram - 360-707-5701

Gus, Pacific Fuel Injection - 650-588-8880

Jerry Fairchild - 530-474-4646

Marty, H&R - 631-589-1600

Best,

Bret

Also check with them to see what the turn around time is.  Amazingly enough most of these guys got swamped this last year. It seems like everyone that was stuck at home because of COVID-19 took their car apart and sent things like injection pumps out to be rebuilt.  I got 1 quote for a 230SL pump rebuild that included a 9 month wait to get it back.

I’ll add Dave Redszus to that list of Kugelfischer rebuilders.

And as always, when you call them, ask if you get a data point graph or numbers for each of the four fuel curves.

. I just like to poke the bear, because only Precision will do that.

"To factory spec" is not enough..........you want to see what that is.

I’m 9 months in with Gus (Pacific Fuel Injection) and he’s promising my pump this month. I chose him partly because the Redszus gentlemen (Precision Auto Research) were running 18 months minimum...

Plan ahead... ?

Regards,

Steve

Just be ready for a LONG wait.  And poor communication.  However, the price is fair the the quality of work beyond reproach.  I'm still waiting for him to return some tii KF cores and the tii distributors I sent him years ago...

Yeah, the last one we had Dave do took long enough that I had to loan a spare pump of my own to our customer... For over a year. At least I know my spare is in good working order. ?

Someone needs to convince Gus to train an apprentice that can take over when he finally retires....

You can't go wrong with any of those listed, I had Fairchild do a tii pump for me 30 years ago when the were based in SoCal and then I had Gus test and re-seal my race pump (and test all of my injectors).  You really (really) can't go wrong with Koller+Schwemmer - they are Bosch/Kugelfischer.

I had Jerry Fairchild rebuild my pump 18 years ago and it was a three week turnaround.  No issues since.  Can't remember how much it cost to have it rebuilt back then but I do remember that Jerry was cheaper and had a much quicker turnaround than the other FI pump rebuilders.  http://www.fuelinjectioncenter.com/index.htm

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
