Sport Seats - New or Used?

Could anyone suggest a nice period correct sport seat - new or used - to be retrofitted into my new to me car?  A photo would be great as well.

Thank you - and yes I did that.......so perhaps I should rephrase my question  because the majority of posts/ pictures and seats shown are from some time ago and I was curious to options I could buy now that people are pleased with OR someone on the forum who would chime in knowing where a nice pair are available today is all.  I do appreciate the responses though.

Stefan makes a wide variety of seats, some period correct.  I have the Sport S in my car.  Very nicely made seats.

I just bought a pair of e21 Recaros and had them refurbished by Dave at Aardvarc racing https://www.2002parts.com/ .  He does great work and they look fantastic.  

 

The e21 seats are a popular choice, and they look period correct.  I would keep an eye on the for sale section, old Recaros come up ever so often.   

 

If money is no object, you could always get a new pair of Recaros from their classic line:

Either way, lots of options out there, just depends on what you're looking for.

A lot of it will depend on your budget, timing, and desired color of seat.

I know there was a guy in Thailand that was restoring OLD Recaro's and usually had a little bit of inventory, maybe someone can provide a link to him. 

If you are patient and post in the WTB section, and regularly search Recaro or FloFit on craigslist and Facebook marketplace things with pop up periodically. But with older (period correct) seats you can expect a little bit of work to make the seats perfect. The old MKII VW GTI & GLI cars had some nice recaros, that is where my seats are from in the pic attached (Recaro Trophy). I found them on craigslist for short money and have swapped them into a few different cars over the years, but before I put them in the 2002 I had an upholstery guy cover the centers with a fabric I provided to match the rest of my interior.

I don’t recommend the comfort option though, almost too wide to fit an 02.

Premium price for premium quality seats. If you can live with black it brings the price down quite a bit

Those look similar to mine.  I had Stefan make me a matching set of covers for the rear.

I found an old pair of E21's on CL, but couldn't find the houndstooth material with a spot of beige in it to match my interior, ANYWHERE! One phone call to Stefan and he found it for me, in Germany. Wasn't exactly cheap, but I got what I wanted.

I sent them my own fabric and they did a semi custom version for me. They do full custom versions as well. I had my rear seats upholstered to match.
