The Vintage 2021 Hot Springs NC

If you've been to previous Vintage meets, you should be on their e-mailing list.  I am, and haven't received anything since last fall, when the delayed 2020 Vintage was canceled.  UPDATE  I just went to the web site and was able to register with no problem 3-4-21.  But if you want a motel room, you'd better act quickly; the Clarion is already sold out, but there are several other motels nearby--and two--the Fairfield Inn and the Wingate--are both run by the same company as the Clarion, and do have rooms.  At least they did today.

Registrations for 2020 were apparently transferred to the new event in 2021.  Scott Sturdy sent a note last week to those registered offering an alternate hotel since the host Clarion at the Asheville airport is booked.

Please use this to register.

It's not closed.

You'll see continue to register on this page.

Have to use motorports.reg to finish.

https://www.atthevintage.com/

AND, above 'continue' you will see New registrations are currently suspended.

Ball of confusion!

maybe it’s just my phone, but I can’t find the event when I do get to the motorsports.reg site.  Tried various search filters.... nada.

and I do remember using that to register in 2018.

I got as far as proceed to checkout, but until I see something on this website less contradictory and more convincing, I will go no further.

I can wait until 2022!

Says new registration is suspended. Is that correct?

if you hit Continue you should be able to get your way to motorsportreg site, make a new user account if it’s your first time, and so on...

I haven’t seen any updates/changes after my registration so I assume this is a go.

Im getting a little stressed as I just started reassembly on my engine bay overhaul...

I need to get the head installed, get my long tube setup sorted out, A/F gage and then some time to tune my Weber38.

I also just ordered heater box rebuild kit and other goodies.

Any bets on whether this thing actually shows up in NC??

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
