2002 Dealership on The Rockford Files

Never missed an episode as a kid.  James Garner... a Hollywood star one could admire as someone who cut his teeth as a stunt driver, long before the ridiculousness of Fast & Furious and CG impossibilities.

Thanks for sharing.

Also a longtime Rockford Files/James Garner fan.  That was a really special show in its day, and it still holds up IMO.  I also remember some NBC promo or special with Garner back in the day, demonstrating how to do a high speed J turn in his trusty Sierra Gold Firebird.  I may or may not have exercised typically sound teenage judgement by practicing the technique on a quiet street the next day.

@fastricky, love your wife's voiceover.  When combined with the background tune the overall effect is like a music video.  Count me as the first fan for her new original composition, "Hit It Hit It Hit It!"   ?

Good eye!  It rolled right in to your next video (‘76 912E), great road.  I like how the bikers could hear you coming and moved over! Tom

Thanks! I got that video shoot in right before the first snow, my first attempt. I'll be doing a vid with my tii once Spring arrives ?. Here's some pics of my setup... (mic tucked in the backseat facing the engine)

Big fan of Garner. But loved the character as well. Still my fantasy of telling people of "Yeah I have a place in Malibu, right on the beach.... you should come by some time" and have a Rockford type home waiting for them.....

Also used to love how he would break his hand when he would punch someone.....

1975 Malaga. It is rusty and  springs an occasional leak.  Just like me.

I don't think his place was hovering around $.5-1.2M range at that time....

PS: Loved his dad Rocky as well.

One of my all-time favorite shows.  Rockford was one of the first TV "heroes with feet of clay"--a good guy but not always on the up-and-up.

Oddly enough, even though I owned a 2002 the whole time the show was on the air, I don't remember seeing any in the episodes--nor the dealerships.  But I especially enjoyed the episodes when his lawyer (played by Gretchen Corbett) made an appearance...
