What's a 2000ti engine worth?

I may be working out a package deal where in addition to the car included are several engines, one of which is from a 2000 ti. Being relatively new to vintage BMWs (I have a 74 tii), assuming the engine is in decent shape and complete, can someone give me an idea of what the ballpark range value for this engine would be? I realize that condition plays a huge part in the value, and I know nothing other than it has been stored indoors since it was pulled.

Oh, he may have the instrument cluster and a few other parts (they were all pulled from a wrecked 2000ti back in the day), so I may get to know you here in this forum better as well. I think I'll have plenty to keep me busy with the car itself - or maybe I should hang onto the engine as a spare?

Unless it has a 2000Ti vin on it it’s worth no more than any other m10 block. Does it have head and carbs?

I paid $600 for one from a good running 2000 Ti car about seven years ago thinking that it would have the correct 9 to 3 to 1 compression pistons. It turned out that somebody had put different lower compression ratio pistons in it and detuned it.  it was a waste of money as I had to buy other pistons for it and rebuild it. Would've been better off putting hot pistons in the motor that I already had etc.  If you have a known good running motor with the correct pistons someone may pay for a clean strong running 2 L with about 125 hp with the correct carburetion. Other than that it only has value in terms of the parts, if the cylinder head and other components are in good shape it has core value. It is not a particularly special motor other than the slightly higher compression ratio.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
