'Ol "PB&J" now has some family company. Hope to have the car here in NY within a few weeks from San Diego... So. Damn. Excited. Metric Mechanics 2.5l S14 motor, the car's basically been sympathetically modded to be an EVOIII.

1988 BMW M3 -223,000 miles -accident and rust free, Metric Mechanics 2500 rally motor rebuild at 200k miles, stock springs, EVO 3 lower wing (genuine BMW) Lower intake (genuine BMW), 16” rims with new Toyo Proxes r1r tires, M tech 2 steering wheel, new upholstery (genuine new old stock BMW houndstooth sourced from Germany), genuine EVO 2 lower wing insert.

One of my favorite aspects of this car is the great job of sourcing the houndstooth material and its installation.

Car is nice, but Doug demuro is completely awful.  His car reviews are pitiful, lacking any real info or knowledge of the cars he babbles about.

Ha yeah, he's goofy. I do appreciate his passion and enthusiasm though, but while he considers this version the best M3 his final review was like a Yelp review (51/100?? C'mon!)

I don't get jealous much, I'll make an exception to this. That is awesome!

Big day - the car arrived this morning and I immediately got behind the wheel and thrashed it for an hour straight on some great twisties where I live. I've never driven a car that was happiest @ 5000rpm+, pretty awesome experience right off the bat.

Pretty much what you read about this car is accurate - the handling is world class. This car has the upgraded 16" EVO wheels so that added rubber I imagine helps too.

This car also has a Metric Mechanics upgraded S14 motor (2.5l, again like EVO spec) so supposedly has greater low end torque. Still I get why folks say it's not a fast car, not until you're up to 5krpm is the engine singing... then you're moving. Clearly I need to live with this car for quite a while before I really fully understand it but first impression is it's a real nice sports car.

Incredible build quality btw, this car has over 230k miles and is quiet, squeak and rattle free.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
