Thats going to be a tough search, I keep an eye out here for a vintage "Seattle BMW" frame since the melon vending car flipper I bought Survivor  from switched out the  original ones installed and I failed to notice... Bastard.

Good luck

I threw out the original Dick Horrigan license plate frame for my ‘76 in the 1980’s, especially because they were such a sucky dealer (e.g., cut out the rear lower valance on my ‘76 to accept an earlier, right-exit exhaust — when the car was only 18 months old). So, naturally, I’ve been searching for a replacement for the last 10 years... ???

Regards,

Steve

In the 02 era in Seattle the 2 dealers were  Phil Smart or L E Belcourt. Belcourt closed in 1973 if I recall correctly but it was the early 80's before Phil Smart who was the local benz dealer spun off BMW into Seattle BMW

Sorry, my bad, I think my car was delivered to its original owner by "BMW Northwest" in Olympia.

I believe thats what the plate frame said before the dirtbag swapped it. In the rush to get the car loaded and on my way I didn't notice the theft until I got back home.

It was old, cool and probably graced my car since first delivered.

I'm a dumb ass for not noticing the theft.

Talk about coincidence, there's actually one on Ebay now in Vancouver WA.  Thats where the flipper who sold me the car is located. Yeah, think its the same dirtbag.?

If your in no hurry I might have a set of BMW NW plate holders if I ever get my stuff unpacked, still recovering from back surgery so it's a slow go.

PS they have patina right from 74.

I may know someone that would be interested in the Weber frame if it is an early one.  His 2800cs came from there.  What would you need for it?

I don't think it's terribly old-- likely not from the 70's.     I'd ship it lower 48 for $30.

I've got two of them, if interested in the pair.  $30 for one, $25 each.   It might be a good placeholder during your friend's quest for a "period correct" frame.  If I had to guess, these look like 80's-90's era frames.

Maybe we can share the wealth, I would buy one for a friend in Fresno with an e9.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
