Rebuilt Brake Booster

2002#3

Recommended Posts

The text for the 3 photos in my initial post was not sent.  Here is the intended accompanying text.

Today I received my rebuilt Ate brake booster from Power Brake Exchange (PBE) (San Jose, CA).  Now, I can finish the '70 2002 brake system/stub axles/hubs/wheel bearings rebuilds so I can lower the car, so I can torque the axle nuts, so I can drive the car, so I can finish adjusting the dual Solex carbs.

PBE seems to have done a bang-up job:  rebuilt and powder coated the unit, added an elbow, kept the original rim//lip crimps and overlap intact, and vacuum tested the unit with a (their) new master cylinder.  Michael et al. at PBE were pleasant, communicative, and helpful.  $178 including return shipping.

NOTE:  PBE did not replace the pint of brake fluid I removed from the booster prior to my shipping the booster to CA.  Should I complain?

NOTE:  Using our cream-color sofa as the setting for an automotive parts photo shoot was not my brightest idea.

See before and after photos in my initial post.

You're fortunate that PBE didn't return that fluid!  Even luckier that the booster isint' incontinent; otherwise you'd be camping out in Motel '02...

They just did mine at the Santa Fe Springs  location, Turn around was 5 days, But it came to me clocked in the wrong position, Master would have been at 45 degree angle, I returned and got it back in 1 day with an apology and discount on any further work. It's mounted and I now have my power brakes back. Been driving almost a year without booster hooked up
