Looking for new pistons

It depends on what you are looking for. If this is just a street car that you want to have some fun with I would recommend the Ti pistons ( make sure you get the right done design for the 121 head!) I would also recommend CAST pistons for a street car. Forged pistons grow more with heat so they have to be set up with more clearance, you really should warm up an engine with forged pistons before you drive off.

the other thing you didn’t mention is what size you need.

1970 1602 (purchased 12/1974)

1974 2002 Turbo

1988 M5

1986 Euro 325iC

Based on that pictured cylinder wall, at least first oversize...

Don't buy pistons until your shop tells you the size or better yet has done the boring.

Yeah, or just AS BIG AS YOU CAN.  I mean, why not?

Dave.

I strongly suggest - Do not bore the block until you have the pistons in your hands.

This is exactly what i have got in mind because i think the bore should be adapted to the pistons not the opposite
